Parcours Pilates

The Parcours Method

Precision first. Strength follows.

At Parcours Pilates, we believe no two paths look the same, and neither should your training.

Every session is rooted in the classical method: the full apparatus, the original order, the precision that has carried this practice for over a century. But classical does not mean static. Our approach layers in athletic flow, strength, control, and movement quality that translates directly into how you live, train, and perform.

Whether you are here to move well for decades to come, push your athletic edge, navigate pregnancy and postpartum with expert guidance, or rebuild safely after an injury, your parcours is your own. We are here to guide it.

Classical Pilates instruction focused on precise, controlled movement

Precision

Rooted in classical Pilates.

Every exercise has a shape, an order, and a reason. We work on control before we work on load - which is what makes the strength stick.

Athletic strength work on Pilates equipment

Strength

Refined through modern athletic training.

Low-impact doesn't mean low-effort. Sessions build real, usable strength that shows up in your other training and in ordinary days.

Longevity

Built around your history.

Old injuries, current limitations, and the things you want to still be doing in twenty years shape the programming from session one.

Courtney Makuch

  • Comprehensively certified - Equinox Pilates Teacher Training Program
  • Classical lineage: Joseph Pilates to Romana Kryzanowska to Carrie Macy Samper
  • Prenatal and postnatal training covered within the comprehensive certification
  • 5+ years teaching across Austin studios

Parcours Pilates is a private studio dedicated to personalized 1:1 Pilates training. Courtney is a classically trained Pilates instructor and the founder of Parcours Pilates.

She is comprehensively certified through the Equinox Pilates Teacher Training Program, developed by Carrie Macy Samper - a third-generation classical Pilates teacher trained under Romana Kryzanowska, whose teachings trace directly back to Joseph Pilates.

She brings over five years of teaching experience from Equinox, Forma Pilates, Lifetime South Lamar, and boutique studios throughout Austin. Her teaching blends the precision of classical Pilates with intelligent athletic training, creating sessions that build deep strength, stability, and longevity in the body.

Courtney's path to Pilates began on the court as a competitive basketball and tennis player. She pushed her body hard, and it pushed back. Two ACL and meniscus tears, and the full reconstructive surgeries that followed, led her to Pilates as a way to rebuild not just her knee, but her relationship to movement itself.

That experience shapes how she teaches today. She specializes in injury prevention and rehabilitation for knees, shoulders, and backs, is certified in prenatal and postnatal training, and brings additional expertise supporting clients managing autoimmune conditions. Every session is built to meet the body where it is, and take it further.

“She trained around my shoulder injury”

I originally started working with Courtney at Equinox and ended up following her to her own studio because honestly, I didn't want to work with anyone else. She's been a huge part of my fitness journey and every session feels really tailored to me, my goals, and compliments my other workouts perfectly. One thing I've appreciated a lot is how she's helped me work through a shoulder injury. She's been really thoughtful about building workouts around it in a way that challenged me while still helping me strengthen and recover it properly. She also has a great way of pushing you past your limits without making it feel forced or overwhelming. On top of that, she's just super easy to work with and somehow always finds a way to fit me into her schedule, even on short notice. I couldn't recommend her more.

“Stronger than a decade of weightlifting”

Courtney is a top-tier instructor with an incredible amount of energy, passion, and knowledge. She methodically helped me reach a whole new fitness level, constantly encouraging me to push my limits. The results have been absolutely incredible - I'm stronger, more balanced, and more toned now than I was after a decade of traditional weightlifting. I highly recommend her!

“She made me love Pilates”

Courtney is incredible if you want a truly custom-tailored Pilates workout. I was such a newbie and she has made me love Pilates and enjoy our time each week! She's a great teacher and overall sweet human. I would (and have) recommend!
